Solar Swimming Pool and Surface Pumps

We offer two main categories: solar pool filtration pumps (900W and 1200W) and surface pumps for irrigation and water transfer (750W and 1500W), all made by Handuro, which can operate on both solar (DC) and AC power from an outlet. In addition, we offer Lorentz pumps (600W and 1800W), which operate exclusively on DC power.

A centrifugal pool pump draws water in through an inlet and accelerates it outward using a rotating impeller, generating continuous flow through the filtration system. This design handles high volumes at steady pressure with minimal mechanical complexity, making it the most widely used type for residential and commercial pools across Cyprus and the broader Mediterranean region.

Sizing depends on pool volume and the required turnover rate. As a general rule, your filtration system should circulate the entire pool volume at least once every eight hours. The panel requirement depends on the pump's wattage. A 900W pool pump typically needs three to four standard 300W panels under full Cyprus sunshine. The 1500W surface pump may require five to six panels. Exact configuration depends on panel efficiency, cable losses, and peak sun hours at your specific installation location.

Yes. These pumps operate directly from panels during daylight hours, which aligns naturally with peak filtration demand. Since pools do not require continuous overnight circulation, battery storage is generally unnecessary. Running the filtration system for six to eight hours during the day is sufficient to maintain water treatment quality in most residential pools.
